Princess Cowboy

Ever have one of those days when you just can't decide what you want to be...or who? It's outfits like these that cause me to not yet trust her to dress herself for school.3037

And then, have you ever seen somebody look so upset about getting flowers? David is learning quickly that when he brings home flowers for mommy, bug needs some of her own. Soon piglet will need some too and I think at that point it will become cheaper and wiser to just take up gardening.

Nuthin' Special

More happy makers:

Not only do I have a scheduled day for the operation, but they have megoing into the hospital about 24hours befor hand. This is a happy thought because then maybeI will have time to not stress about it and possible some good sleepy time meds so that i actually sleep through the night. And as terrible as it sounds,I think I might even be looking forward to the catheter just so i don't have toget my big roly poly butt out of the bed. Yeah, that's sort of miserable.

I have only gained between 15-17 pounds with this pregnancy. That's a great thingas I put on close to 60 pounds with Bug. There is actually a possibility that I might actually come out of this pregnancy smaller than when I started. Which of course the nurse at my doctor's office was kind enough to point out was still 60 -100 pounds over my "ideal" weight. Easy to say when one barely wears a size 4.

My child eats carrots and broccoli. She will sit down and eat a dinner of carrots and brocclie and lunch meat faster and more readily than a can of Chef Boyardee. Somewhere, some how I did something right.

Oh, and she tells her daddy he has a "pumpkin head", but mommy doesn't.

So the good out weighs the bad most days.

Surprise Holiday Hit

Who would have ever guessed that the Bug's favorite holiday movie would be "King Kong"? Oh sure, she has "Rudolph", "Frosty", "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", and any number of other movies. But this season, for whatever reason, the big ape taking away the pretty girl seems to have become a favorite. She really gets into the movie - yelling at the monkey, telling pretty girl to run and just generally being terribly alarmed but all the going ons. Well, her interest lasts until they get back to New York and it really starts turning kind of mushy. Can't blame her there.

Just more proof that our child is indeed a little bit off.

Blessings

In November, I went to the daycare for their Thanksgiving lunch. A few other parents were there as well. The children sat down and all very sweetly put their hands together to say their blessings. In a sing song voice:

"Heavenly Father, Heavenly Father, thank you for our blessings, thank you for our blessings, AA-Amen, AA-Amen"

Then, each and every one of them ended thier prayer with "Now drink your milk and no talking"

The teacher was mortified.

The parents laughed.

And all the children drank their milk. Amen.

Truly Southern Girl

I never had any doubt that my little girl, growing up in the true south, would be anything but a charming southern belle. But recently I have had the proof given to me straight out of her own sweet little mouth.

1. Whenever any one comes over, the first thing she does is go to her room and "cook" for them. She then presents our guest with a plastic bowl and says "Here, I cook for you."

2. She was wearing a Disney night gown the other night and her daddy asked her who the princess on the gown was. First she answered "Little Mermaid". He ask what her name was specifically. And Jessica looked down at her gown and replied, "Ummm...Bubba."

3. She stood at the doorway of her room while her father and I were in there looking at the painting I've been doing on the wall. She put her hands on her hips and said, "Ya'll..git outta my room!".

Yep..she's a southerner.

(BTW..her mouth is doing much better, unless of course anyone asks her about it..in which case it is hurting and miserable and can only be cured by candy.)

Sweet Talker

So here I am, walking around the house trying to get dressed. I have a towel wrapped mostly around me, but admittedly it seems to be flapping open in the back like a hospital gown. Jessica walks right up to me, pokes my butt a few times and announces "Mommy has a pretty butt."

Hey, I'll take that.

Other Fun Phrases

Our Bug gets very very excited about going to the Aqaurium and about spending time with her Daddy. When we tell her we are going to "see the fishes" she usually responds with "I'm coming sharks!". I'm sure they appreciate the warning. She loves looking at all the fish and the long shark tunnel. She gets excited and points to the Nemo fish and Dory fish and has recently even liked looking at the "jello fish". (Jelly fish)

But lately she has also started expressing much excitment about Daddy as well. In fact, I think Daddy now actually ranks above sharks, fish, and the park. She loves the idea of going bye bye in "the blue car" brcause she knows that means Daddy is going too. In fact, one day last week she was so adament about it that he had to take her to day care. When she gets up in the morning, she usually does pretty well sitting down to breakfast. But if she hears daddy at all...which she always does when he calls out "Baby??"...oh goodness...get out of the way because she is going straight for him. Sometimes she'll yell out excitedly, "I'm coming daddy!" but lately it has become "daddyoodadddyodaddy." Very cute. But forget getting dressed or changing diapers or anything else that needs to get done until she has had her daddy fix.

I'm really not complaining. It is very nice to see them play together and how excited she gets about playing with him. However, the curling up in his arms in the morning, and smiling at me triumphantly while i am trying to get her ready...well...i'm not really sure i'm prepared for that game for another 18-22 years.

Counting

1,2, 6,7,8,9,10....3.

I think I'm impressed with the fact that she counted at least some of that in the correct order. I know i am just happy that it was all numbers instead of one of her early attempst that went..1 ,2, duck.

Nice Weather

The last couple days have been simply beautiful here at the beach. Truly it is hard to beleive that it is the middle of Febuary. We have been going to the park in the afternoons again. Not as cool as the Aquarium with all the fishes, but still pretty neat. She has really gotten into playing with all the leaves. She loves throwing them up in the air and having them fall over her. Granted, she really does complain about the sand she picks up withthe leaves that then falls in her eyes and down her pants. She has also taken to picking as many dandelions as possible. And when her little fists are full, she stomps on the others. Hey, it makes her happy.

Forcast says it's suppose to be a cold rainy weekend. Yucky.

Oh, her new phrase " " What are you talking about?"

Nemo Update

She has revised the story:

"Nemo. Boat. Taken in boat. Bad boat. Time out boat. I mean it."

And she tells the story over and over again.  Especially whenever she is on the potty or in the car seat.  But yet, she doesn't ever want to watch that movie. No..she wants  " f**ck en hound".  (Translation..Fox and the Hound)
