Where did she hear that?

Let's see....recently she has added these phrases to her ever growing repetoire: "I don't wan't to" , "I can't do it" and " I Jessica!" . All of which translate from toddler to grown up as, "No mommy, I would rather you beat me and scream like a maniac than do anything you might ask of me." I swear that is the actually translation...I can see it clear as day on her face. But no, I have not beaten her. Though there may truly be some structural damage to the wall I keep banging my head against.

Also at the park last week she informed three boys that she had been chasing that she was going to "Kick your ass!" Honestly, I have no clue where she heard that But my oh my did it do a wonderful job of turning my face beet red.

On the up side, she does say "Please", "Thank You", "You're welcome" and "Bless you." on a fairly regular basis. so I can't be doing everything wrong.

How is it one child can make me feel like such an incompetant moron daily?

Bipolar Toddlers

Somedays I just can't get anything right. And Bug lets me know all about it. She screams, yells rants, shakes her finger, no ma'ms me, and crosses her arms. "I mean it mommy!". Now sometimes it is a funny spectle that I work hard to not laugh at. But most times it just frustrates me. Then I get mad because there I am , a grown woman, arguing with a 2 year old. And anytime a grown up actually argues with a child..well...the grown up has already lost. Sometimes she just wakes up in these moods. HAs a great big peice of grumpy pie for breakfast.

Of course, it goes without saying that whenever she is like this, Daddy can do no wrong.

Other days she is a delight. She is cheerful, giggly, happy, compliant, even darn near helpful. On these days she has had her happy juice before even waking up.

Bring on the juice and throw out the pie.

Big Top

We went to the Circus tonight. The Cole Brothers Circus. Jessica had lots of fun, mostly with the cherry snow cone she managed to tie dye the rest of her clothing with. She had a snow cone, popcorn, cotton candy and water. THe cotton candy wasn't a big hit. Seems she sort of got freaked when it disolved in her mouth. However, waving it around on the the little rolled up cardboard stick was great fun.

Now, you have to understand the first act of this circus was a guy playing frisbee with his dog. Yeah. How do you fill that out on your tax forms? But it was all pretty exciting for our Bug. She loved the elephants and watched Spiderman on the motorcycle on the high wire. It wasn't Ringling Brothers like I grew up with, but it was pretty fun just seeing her get excited by what was there. Truly though, I think the biggest draw was the snow cone.

Oh, and she got to ride an elephant with David. I missed it ecause i was standing in line for tickets. Dang it. But for those of you who know David......can you even inagine? She's got him wrapped around that little finger pretty darn good, I'd say. But, we did manage to leave without buying one single circus light up, blow up, fold out, cheap peice of crap.

I can't wait for the zoo.
